With more than 40 years of experience in chemical products for industry and construction, Carpemar is committed to renewable energy as a strategic growth sector.
We started in the solar thermal sector, where we have built an outstanding track record based, from the very beginning, on a range of top-quality products developed specifically for solar energy installations and adapted to the weather conditions of Mediterranean countries.
Other sectors related to our knowledge and experience quickly joined our product portfolio, leading to important agreements with manufacturers of wind turbines, generator sets, food products, heating systems and more.
Our experience allows us to adapt to the specific needs of our customers and to provide full technical assistance and good after-sales service.
Our R&D&I philosophy also allows us to develop other products and so serve other customers and markets.
In our dedication to top-quality products, Carpemar applies the latest additive technologies, as they are the most environmentally friendly and offer the best performance and the longest service life.
History
Our track record
Founded in 1968 by Don Carmelo Pérez Martínez, Carpemar began as a company distributing lubricants, greases and chemical products for the automotive, industrial and construction sectors.
Today Carpemar is a modern, renewed and dynamic company whose main line of business is the manufacture of antifreezes and chemical products. The energy sector remains our main field of activity, with products that have the lowest possible environmental impact and always favouring the safest options for people and the environment. We have solutions for the solar, wind, power generation, combustion engine and hydroelectric markets, among others.
2006
The third generation joined the company and decided to start a new line of products developed and produced in-house: heat-transfer antifreeze fluids. Distribution began that same year.
2009
Blue Sun® obtained approval from INTA (Spanish Ministry of Defence), becoming the first antifreeze of its kind to receive this certification. That same year, IDAE (Spanish Ministry of Industry) included Carpemar in its first official list of suppliers for the solar energy sector.
2011
Alstom Wind Energy approved two products: Blue Sun® (propylene glycol-based) and Luzar Organic (monoethylene glycol-based) for use in its onshore and offshore wind turbines.
2012
Carpemar made its first international sale, marking the start of its expansion into new markets. We also signed collaboration agreements with two research groups at the University of Zaragoza to develop and improve our products and to create new solutions adapted to the needs of the sector.
2015
As part of its international growth, ICEX (Spanish Ministry of Economy) included the company in its ICEX NEXT programme. In addition, Propylene Glycol Coolant obtained NSF HT1 certification, which endorses its use in installations with possible incidental contact with food products, making us the only Spanish company to hold this approval.
2018
Start of the development of smart sensors as part of the Industry 4.0 and digitalisation strategy identified in the market.
2019
Quality management system certification to ISO 9001:2015.
2020
The ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management and ISO 45001:2008 for occupational health and safety were added to Carpemar’s management system. In addition, SIEMENS-GAMESA approved our Luzar Organic, starting a business relationship. That same year we were awarded the EcoVadis Gold medal in recognition of our commitment to sustainability.
2022
Carpemar once again achieved the EcoVadis Gold medal for CSR, this time with a score of 70/100, higher than in 2020.

Quality, environment, health and safety
Quality
Carpemar has an integrated Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management System in place. We are certified to ISO 9001 and maintain a policy of responsibility and commitment to the environment and to the health and safety of our employees.
The quality of Carpemar’s products is reflected in the approvals obtained from prestigious institutions, such as the INTA approval to ASTM 3306 and AA-52624A standards for our propylene glycol-based antifreeze Blue Sun® in 2009, making us the first manufacturer to obtain it.
As a result of its commitment to quality, Carpemar was certified to ISO 9001:2000 in 2008. In 2019 the certification was renewed to ISO 9001:2015. In this way we aim to improve communication with our customers and to control at all times the high quality we demand of every product.
Environment
Protecting the environment and sustainability are among Carpemar’s goals. We are committed to continuously improving our environmental performance in order to reduce and/or eliminate the environmental impacts arising from our activities: developing products with the lowest possible environmental impact through the selection of products and suppliers, improving processes to reduce resource consumption and waste generation throughout the product life cycle, and managing waste properly.
Health and safety
At Carpemar we are aware of our commitment to the people who are part of this company, as well as to all those who collaborate in its daily activity. Our aim is the continuous improvement of working conditions and protection levels, so that activities are carried out with the highest standards of occupational health and safety.
