Description

Luzar® 7SR effectively protects copper, brass, carbon steel, stainless steels, cast iron and aluminum.

Contains dispersants to prevent scale build-up whilst slowly dissolving any scale already present in the system.

Prevents the formation of biological sludge in the circuit.

Remains active during system shutdowns (summer in heating-only systems) and in the presence of solids.

Compatible with the seals, elastomers and plastics commonly used in heating systems (HDPE, PEX, PP, POM, PA, etc.).

Advantages

  • Protects metals from corrosion.
  • Prevents biologically-derived sludge.
  • Dispersant effect: prevents scale build-up and slowly dissolves existing scale in the circuit.
  • 100 % active in the presence of solids in the circuit.
  • 100 % active when the circuit is shut down.
  • Formulated using 100 % OAT technology; the additives are not consumed whilst active.
  • Formulated without heavy metals, amines, phosphates, borates, nitrites or nitrates.
  • Not classified as hazardous under current legislation.
  • Biodegradable.

Directions for use

  1. Circulate the fluid in the system for at least one hour to ensure that any deposits are kept in suspension.
  2. Drain the old fluid completely (pay particular attention to siphons and areas where fluid may accumulate).
  3. Check the heating elements and the expansion tank. Clean them if any solids are found.
  4. Rinse with water at least twice. Drain and check that no residue remains blocking the filters.
  5. Drain the circuit completely.
  6. Fill with Luzar® 7SR and drinking water with a maximum chloride content of 100 ppm.
  7. Once the solution has been filled, leave the pumps running with all valves open so that at least 3.5 times the total volume of the system passes through them to ensure homogenous mixing.

Maintenance – Service life

Dosage

New installations or those without corrosion problems: 1.0 % to 1.5 % of the circuit volume.

For older installations or those experiencing issues such as corrosion or gas formation, it is recommended to increase the dosage to 2.5 – 3.5 %.

The maximum recommended dosage is 7 % for long-term shutdown fluid or where the system has previously suffered severe corrosion.

When refilling the system at a later date, add Luzar® 7SR in the appropriate proportion together with the fresh water.

Precautions

Luzar® 7SR is not classified as hazardous under current regulations; however, the usual precautions should be taken when handling chemicals.

Store at temperatures between 5 and 40 °C in the original, tightly sealed containers, away from direct sunlight. Under these conditions, the shelf life is at least 24 months.
